San Diego Rock-N-Roll Marathon 2010

1 08 2010

This is my 3rd year in a row running the San Diego Rock-N-Roll Marathon.  The course this year changed a bit for about the last 10 miles.  Instead of running through Crown Point and PB area, it went around Fiesta Island.  I wasn’t so much of a fan because Fiesta Island is just cement and dirt.  Nothing too pretty to look at, and it seemed like it went on forever.  My friend, Craig W.,  met up with me at the Mile 15 marker to run the last 11 miles with me, and Jackie L. met up around Mile 22 or so.  They really kept me running and motivated.  It was great to have so many supporters!  Other friends (Marissa, JoJo, and Ken) were out on Friars Road to cheer me on around Mile 13.  Of course, I had to stop by the Big 10 Michigan table for some water!  Go Blue!

So all in all, I PR’ed!  Final time:  3:47:49.  Final rank:  1,038/10,650.  Now, I just have to shave off 7 minutes to qualify for the Boston Marathon.  I haven’t signed up for any marathons yet, but maybe I’ll run the Long Beach Marathon again this fall.
